We know everyones fed up of Lock Down life – especially this second time around. Here at CrossFit Jorvik HQ we thought we’d plan something fun not just for our members but for the whole York Community to not only get you out and about but to give you some time away to clear your mind and have FUN!!
We give you ‘The CrossFit Jorvik Viking Run’
We know both physical health and mental health go hand in hand so we took this opportunity to help raise some money and awareness by teaming up with local charity ‘York Mind’ who do amazing work to provide support with mental health services locally, but like so many charities and businesses they have been affected by the restrictions this year.
We have put together a fun ‘activity’ style run – which has been mapped out at York Knavesmire leading into the Knavsmire wood. It is approx a 2.5k run which has 5 staggered different activities along the way!! This is accessible to everyone and is completely FREE!
You can do this alone, with your household/kids, or meet up with a buddy (we just ask that you adhere to government guidelines and maintain social distancing and stick to meeting up one on one!)
This will be launched on Friday 20th November from 12pm and will be up and running for 3 weeks (as long as the signs don’t get blown away beforehand!)
The starting point is at Cherry Lane Car park where there will be a sign with with QR code for you to scan – this will give your brief for the tun and get you started!
Each sign station along the way will have a demo video of the activity outlined to guide you through and keep you on track each step of the way!
Once you complete the ‘CrossFit Jorvik Run’ and reach the finish line –
– Scan the barcode
– Don’t forget to take a pairs or individual selfie with the ‘I completed the Jorvik Viking Run’ sign (just remember to keep distanced if you’ve met up with a buddy from another household)

, you can even submit your time if you want to compare with others!
– If you can, we ask for any donations to be to given to York Mind anything you can would be greatly appreciated.
Please note we have planned this for a 3 week duration to ensure people can do this at varied times to avoid over crowding of groups, and at a time which works for you! Again we ask if you decide to get involved to ensure you adhere to the government guidelines throughout by sticking to your household or just meeting with one other individual if you’re doing this with a buddy and maintaining social distancing.
All that is left to say is good luck, enjoy yourself, maintain social distancing and perhaps don’t wear your best trainers (its real muddy in the woods!)
